Researcher in park

Online presentation: A New Grassland for Royal Park, March 7

PhD candidate Katherine Horsfall will be discussing her research into creating native wildflower meadows in urban landscapes in an online presentation organised by the Grassy Plains Network (GPN). Katherine is investigating how species from critically endangered temperate grasslands and grassy eucalypt woodlands can create urban wildflower meadows that can improve urban biodiversity and people’s exposure to nature. Katherine worked with the City of Melbourne on research trials at Royal Park, Parkville, and is now is seeking to devise new and affordable ways to create native wildflower meadows on hostile urban soils.

Date: Tues 7 March, 6.30-7.15 pm  Followed by the GPN general meeting.
