Professor Terry Hartig: Nature Experience, Psychological Restoration and Health

Prof. Kathryn Williams and Assoc. Prof. Katherine Johnson received funding from the University of Melbourne Brotherton fellowship to host a visit from Professor Terry Hartig (Uppsala University, Sweden), a leader in research on nature and health. Terry has previously collaborated with many of us in GIRG and is also working with Hort Innovation funded researchers at the University of Woolongong (Thomas Astell-Burt). The visit provided many opportunities to build connections that will support future research and teaching in this area. A large audience enjoyed Terry’s public lecture on nature, psychological restoration and health (a recording of the lecture is available here) in which he specifically spoke about out green roof research. Terry also spoke at smaller meetings with external industry partners, and with nature and health researchers from across the University of Melbourne.
